The Vancouver Gaelic Athletic Association (Vancouver GAA) is a vibrant sports organization based in Vancouver, Canada, dedicated to promoting and preserving the traditional Irish sports of Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. The first original Vancouver club was founded in 1974, Since then Vancouver GAA has grown into a thriving community of athletes, enthusiasts, and fans who come together to celebrate Irish culture through sports.
With a growing community of over 1000 people, Vancouver GAA is Canada’s largest, and fastest growing division for Gaelic games, having 9 GAA clubs with our most recent addition in 2023, with the Vancouver Le cheile youth club, focusing on the development of younger players and further encouraging sustainable growth for our sports.
Gaelic football, hurling and camogie are Ireland’s most popular and ancient sports, combining elements of soccer, rugby, and field hockey. Vancouver GAA provides a platform for people of all ages and skill levels to participate in these exhilarating sports, fostering a strong sense of community and camaraderie among its members.
